HURLNG
The Junior team are preparing well for their next two Championship games, which will be played later this month, against Roanmore and Ballygunner. Well done to Jack Keoghan and his teammates who had an outstanding one point win over Tipperary, in the Munster Minor Hurling Championship game played in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick on Sunday.
FOOTBALL

All support at both these games will be welcome.
JUVENILE
Under 13 football County Final
Tramore 4-6
An Ghaeltach 3-5
On a beautiful June morning the lads loaded up in the cars at 8.30am to travel to Cappoquin to face An Ghaeltacht in the under 13 county football final. Bad news had reached the coaches that influential midfielder Jack Caulfield was not going to play due an injury (Get well soon Jack!!!) but you could feel a positive vibe from the players, coaches and parents as they made their way to West Waterford.

On a beautiful surface prepared by Cappoquin Gaa the ball was thrown in and the game began. An Ghaeltacht were on top for first 10 minutes which was not helped when centre back Edward Wall had to go off injured (Get well soon Edward!!!) but some good defending kept the score line tight until they broke through for a goal and we found ourselves 1-4 to 0-1 behind. With a last push before half time Ben Kavanagh grabbed a vital goal and at the break we were 3 behind.
If the first half was exciting nothing could have prepared us for the see saw nature of the second half. The coaches made a change at half time bringing on the speedy and direct running Ben Brophy who gave the Tramore lads some real penetration in the forwards and scores started to come easier. At the other end the backs for Tramore repelled attack after attack but An Ghaeltacht broke through for 2 goals with 5 minutes to go to bring the game back to a point but down Tramore went to the other end to score the vital goal that meant the trophy was making its way back to the parish.
As the chairman of the Bord na Nog said as he presented the trophy to a proud captain Josh Chapman this was a brilliant match that kept both sets of supporters on their toes until the very end. The lads celebrated wildly for ages afterwards, they deserved it.
On the day every player gave 100% to the cause. Ben Kiely in goals stopped a few bullets. Josh Chapman and Nathan Walsh did not give their markers a chance of scores all day and kept them scoreless. Dan Brennan was brilliant in the first half and won a world of ball and used it well. Dylan Walsh the other wing back was busy all day and a vital tackle he won at the end when there was only a point in it will be long remembered. Centre back Edward Wall was playing well until injured, his replacement Christian McLoughlin played a blinder for the rest of the game. The 2 midfielders of Tom Halley and Harry Butler worked their socks off for the cause and drove the team forward all day marking 2 very good players on the other side. After a slow start the forwards really came good in the second half. Evan Morrissey made some great runs, Conor Brennan was onto every breaking ball and got some great scores. Sean Schley as always was winning ball and driving at the opposition causing untold damage and kicked 2 points for good measure. The inside men of Zack Flynn and Ben Kavanagh were terrific target men and held up the ball to get others into the game. Ben Brophy made a huge difference when he came on, he ran and ran creating and taking scores. Michael Cuddihy contributed handsomely to this win also winning some hard balls when badly needed. All the rest of the panel contributed to this win during the year in other matches and at training sessions.
Commiserations to An Ghaeltacht who gave it all and lost nothing in defeat.
A big thank you to mentors Tom and John Brennan and John Wall for all the work they put in during the year.
