Week 23

SUPERVALU
Thanks to SuperValu for their continued generous sponsorship of our Club.

FOOTBALL
Micheál MacCraith were beaten by St Saviour's 3-15 to 0-9 in the Eastern Intermediate Football Championship game, played in brilliant sunshine, before a fine attendance in Tramore on Saturday evening. This was a good open competitive game of football for 45 minutes, but 3 goals in the last quarter, gave St Saviour's the win they deserved, even if the scoreboard was a bit flattering to them. The visitors led 0-9 to 0-4 at the interval, and led by 0-12 to 0-8 with 15 remaining, when they scored their first goal. St Saviour's finished the very strongly and justified the favourites tag to win out this championship. The Tramore panel was Tommy McGrath, Jason Wilmott, Martin Whelan, James Murtagh, Warren Vereker, William Cullinane, Michael Hayes, (0-2), Diarmuid Kelly, Pádraig Woods, Lee Quilty, (0-6), Jamie Hunt, Sam Linehan, John Clancy, Andrew Power, (0-1), Pádraig Bradley, Seán Martin, Caleb Cowman, Lorcan Lynch and Rhys Moran. The remaining group games will be against De La Salle and Kill.

HURLING
The scheduled Junior hurling game against Roanmore for mid June has been postponed, so the next Championship game is against Ballygunner on 29 June.

DOUGIE'S SUMMER CAMP
A summer camp is being held in the Club from 9 July to 13 July from 10.30am-2.30pm daily for children under 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 (children born 2006-2012). This camp is called the Dougie Summer Camp, in remembrance of the late Dougie Partridge, who was a great dual player for the Club in his playing days, but is best remembered for his vision and foresight in founding the Juvenile GAA Club in 1972, the year that our Minor teams won the county hurling and football titles. The work Dougie did for the Club was simply phenomenal. The cost is €50. Pre-book your children by text only, name and dob to 083-4055985. Full registration will take place on 23 June, where the application form and money need to be brought to Tramore GAA Club between 10am-12pm. To Brian McCormack, Moonvoy, on his terrific performance in finishing 10th in the Pokerstars Senior TT race in the Isle of Man at the weekend. Brian's family have been great supporters of the Club for many years, and his father, Eamonn, (still a handy 30's card player every Friday night) was a fine hurler with the Club in his younger days.
