SUPERVALU  Thanks to SuperValu, for their continued generous sponsorship of our Club.   FOOTBALL  Micheál MacCraith were defeated by Newtown in the third round of the Intermediate Football Championship, played in Kill on Saturday evening. This was a tight match throughout, with defences generally on top. In an error strewn first half, we led 0-4 to 0-1 after 20 minutes, but lost our concentration for a time, and were 1-4 to 0-4 down at the interval. The standard of football increased greatly in the second half, with every ball keenly contested and scores hard to come by. Newtown's greater experience was a big factor in their narrow but deserved win. Tramore put in a good team display, that augers well for the remaining Championship games. The line out was Tommy McGrath, Jason Wilmott, James Murtagh, Caleb Cowman, Lorcan Lynch, Dylan Bolster, Mark Hayes, Sam Lenihan, Michael Hayes, Pádraig Woods, Lee Quilty, (0-1), Andrew Power, (0-2), Seán Martin, Niall Ke...

FOOTBALL  An very understrength Micheál MacCraith were no match for Kilmacthomas in the second round of the Intermediate Championship, played in sun drenched played Walsh Park on Saturday evening, and went down to a heavy defeat on a scoreline of 5-12 to 0-3. Tramore never got to grips with the opposition, and we were 3-6 to 0-3 down at the interval. Our cause wasn't helped by indiscipline, as we had three players red carded,  The lads had played very well in the one point unlucky defeat to Bonmahon last week. Let's hope the team can get back to winning ways on Saturday, when they play Newtown in Kill at 6.45pm. Greater support from our members and supporters is required to encourage this young team.  A youthful Tramore side drew with the experienced and warm favourites, Kill, in the opening round of the Junior Championship, played before a fine attendance, in Tramore on Friday evening. This was a fine game of open football between two well balanced sides, and a d...

SUPERVALU Thanks to SuperValu, for their continued generous sponsorship of our Club.   FOOTBALL  Micheál MacCraith were unluckily beaten by Bonmahon in the opening round of the Intermediate Championship, played in Walsh Park on Saturday evening. Tramore lead 1-5 to 0-7 at half time, but were terribly unlucky not to score two further goals during the half. Our failure to score for the first 16 minutes after the interval proved costly, as Bonmahon scored 5 unanswered points. Then Martin Whelan scored 2 wonder points and after Niall Kennedy scored a goal, we led by 2 points with 4 minutes remaining, but we could not close out the game, and a converted injury time free gave Bonmahon a fortuitous win. This was a good display against a top team, and should stand to the lads for their next game, against Kilmacthomas, in Walsh Park, on Saturday, at 5pm. The panel was Tom McGrath, Warren Vereker, Ciárán O'Connor, James Murtagh, (Captain), Evan Connor, William Cullinane, Matthe...
