Week 16
FOOTBALL
An very understrength Micheál MacCraith were no match for Kilmacthomas in the second round of the Intermediate Championship, played in sun drenched played Walsh Park on Saturday evening, and went down to a heavy defeat on a scoreline of 5-12 to 0-3. Tramore never got to grips with the opposition, and we were 3-6 to 0-3 down at the interval. Our cause wasn't helped by indiscipline, as we had three players red carded, The lads had played very well in the one point unlucky defeat to Bonmahon last week. Let's hope the team can get back to winning ways on Saturday, when they play Newtown in Kill at 6.45pm. Greater support from our members and supporters is required to encourage this young team.
A youthful Tramore side drew with the experienced and warm favourites, Kill, in the opening round of the Junior Championship, played before a fine attendance, in Tramore on Friday evening. This was a fine game of open football between two well balanced sides, and a draw of 2-7 to 2-7, was a fair result. Our panel was Gary Dunphy, Eric Power, Gary Whelan, Matthew Garvey, Craig Burke, Richard Hickey, Donnagh O'Connor, Michael Walsh, Adam Power, Eoin O'Grady, Brian McDermott, Paudie Bradley, Ben Palmer, Brian Murray,Ben Richards, Lorcan Lynch, Dan Morrissey, Richie Murphy, Jack Jacob and Joshua Malone. The lads next play Naomh Pól in the second round of the Championship, in Lisduggan, on Friday, at 6.45pm. Our Minors had a great win over St Mary's in the Championship on Tuesday, winning 2-8 to 1-10, in Kill.
HURLING
Training is going well for our Junior hurlers, who are preparing to play Mount Sion in the opening round of the Championship, in Cleaboy, on Friday 4 May, at 7pm. The lads have a challenge match against Ballyduff Lower, in Carriganore, on Tuesday.

Our under 12 hurlers played a challenge match ver Ballygunner this morning and came away with the spoils following a very good game of hurling. In what was a great team performance special mention to Harry Ryan, Nathan Power and in particular Conor Walsh who was playing in his first under 12 match and competed very well. What was great to see was how hard they worked for each other and they can see the rewards this can bring. Well done boys
“Proud of our place”
Tramore u9s working hard againt De La Salle yesterday to claim a fantastic win. This was a great game and a good win for our lads. Really working like a team. Well done lads. Darrell and Noels half time tactical changes were Brian Cody like 😉😉. The smiles on their faces after the game make it all worthwhile for the mentors involved.
“Proud of our place”
The under 10 hurlers and mentors want to say thank you to everyone who voted for them and they look forward to taking part in the Noel Connors hurling challenge on the 6th May in Walsh Park. Thank you McConnells Toyota for organizing the event.
